Search Engine Optimization Tutorial

The current links optimizer

Optimizing the existing links of your website is one of the fastest ways to increase the rankings of your web pages.

The anchor text that is used to link to your website greatly influences the position of your pages in the search results. For example, it is likely that a web page will get high rankings on Google and other search engines for the keyword “blue widgets” if many different websites link to the page with the anchor text “blue widgets”

As the anchor texts are very important, general texts such as “click here” or “more information” should be avoided. It is better if the links to your website contain the keywords for which you want to get high rankings.

The current links optimizer in SEOprofiler helps you to find links to your website that can be improved:

  • Enter the domain name of your website and click the ‘Get link information’ button. Of course, you can also enter any other domain name if you want to find the unhelpful links of other sites.
  • The results show unhelpful anchor links, web references (mentions of your website without a link), URLs that redirect to your website, canonical URLs (different links that point to the same page on your site) and links that use the rel=nofollow tag.
  • The table shows the pages that link to your site with an unhelpful anchor text.
  • Click the ‘Add’ button to add a website to the Link Manager in SEOprofiler. Then contact the webmaster of the other website and ask them to update your link.
  • The online report shows only a selection of the influencer sites. Click the ‘Download’ panel to download all influencer sites.
