How to work with the ranking monitor, part 6: export your ranking data

The ranking monitor in SEOProfiler enables you to check the position of your web pages on Google, Yahoo and Bing. It also offers actionable items that help you to promote your website as efficiently as possible. In this article series, we explain how to work with the ranking monitor.

The ‘Export’ panel

The CSV export file includes all keywords with their Google, Yahoo and Bing rankings of this week and last week. The export file enables you to work with your ranking data in other applications, for example you can import the file into a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft® Excel® or LibreOffice.

The CSV file has 22 columns that contain detailed information about the rankings of your website:

Column nameExplanation
keyword The keyword for which the search engine rankings are checked.
region Is the shortcut for the selected language and country, for example “en-us” is “English – USA”, and “de-ch” is “German – Switzerland”. The language code is the standardized ISO 639-1 code. The country code is the standardized ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code.
check_date The date of the last ranking check. Every keyword has its own ranking check date. The format is YYYY-MM-DD (year, month, day) so that you can easily arrange the links by date, or “0000-00-00” if the keyword has not been checked yet.
google_pos The ranking position on Google, for example 3 if the keyword is ranked on the third position.
google_page The Google result page on which the ranking has been found (note: not all Google result pages have exactly 10 results).
google_old_pos The ranking position on Google in the last week.
google_change The ranking position change, for example 4 if the ranking went up four positions, or -2 if the ranking went down two positions. It can also be “in” if there was no ranking last week, or “out” if there was a ranking last week but not this week.
google_type The listing type. Possible values: normal, blogs, book, finance, image, local, maps, movie, news, realtime, shopping, social, trends, travel, video.
