New in SEOprofiler: the content gaps page

We have improved the Ranking Monitor in SEOprofiler. The Ranking Monitor now has a dedicated ‘content gaps’ page that shows you the keywords for which your website does not have rankings, although it should be ranked for them:

What are content gaps?

If your website is not listed for one of the keywords that you monitor, that usually means that your web pages do not have content that can be listed for these keywords. This means that there’s a content gap on your site.

If your direct competitors have content and topics that rank better than your own web pages, there is a content gap on your site.

If your website does not offer the content that is needed to offer your audience what it wants, there is a content gap on your site.

How to find content gaps

SEOprofiler offers many different ways to find the keywords for which your website should be ranked:

  1. The new ‘Content gaps’ page in the Ranking Monitor

The new page ‘Content gaps’ in the Ranking Monitor shows you the keywords for which your website is not ranked although you monitor them.

  2. The ‘Keyword suggestions’ page in the Ranking Monitor

The keywords below are related to the keywords that you are currently monitoring. Consider adding these keywords to the list of keywords that you monitor. The suggested keywords are retrieved through Google, Bing and Yahoo. The list is updated daily.

  3. The Keyword Spy tool in SEOprofiler.

The Keyword Spy tool in SEOprofiler shows you the keywords for which your competitors are listed on Google. It also shows the keywords for which your competitors advertise on Google. You can find the Keywords Spy in the ‘Find keywords’ section in SEOprofiler.

How to close content gaps

You can close content gaps by creating new pages on your website that are related to these keywords. If you already have pages that are related to these pages, optimize them with the page optimization tools in SEOprofiler.

If a web page is not ranked although the content of the page is highly relevant to a topic or a keyword, then improve the links that point to the page.
