Google: we treat new TLDs as gTLDs

In a discussion on a webmaster forum, Google’s John Mueller said that Google treats new TLDs as gTLDS:

That means that websites that use new TLDs such as .guru, .cash, .berlin, etc. will be treated like websites that use TLDs such as .com or .net until Google finds out that these new TLDs should be treated differently.
