Kaizen: improvements in the website audit tool in SEOprofiler

KaizenKaizen is Japanese for “improvement”, or “change for the better”. It refers to a philosophy that focuses upon continuous improvement of processes in manufacturing, engineering and business management.

According to Wikipedia, Kaizen is “a process that, when done correctly, humanizes the workplace and eliminates overly hard work”.

At SEOprofiler, we’re continually improving our tools to make sure that they make your life easier. Even small improvements can contribute positively to the overall user experience.

What’s new in the website audit tool?

The website audit tool in SEOprofiler checks your web pages for errors that can have a negative influence on the user experience and/or on the search engine rankings of your website. Last September, we added a spell check feature to the website audit tool.

The spell check analyzed the visible text on your web pages but the text in option menu labels was ignored. Starting today, the text in <optgroup label=”…”> and <option label=”…”> attributes will also be checked by the spell checker.

The more pages your website has, the more likely it is that there are many errors that have to be corrected.

Even if your web pages were error free when you published them, there can be several things that you have to fix: links can get broken, servers can have problems, there might be duplicate content issues, etc.

All of these errors can have a negative influence on the search engine rankings of your web pages. The website audit tool helps you to make sure that your web pages do not contain errors that can cause problems with search engines.

Regular website audits, fully automatic

The audit tool in SEOprofiler automatically checks your web pages once per week. Then you get a report that shows all the issues that should be corrected. By correcting these issues, you make sure that search engines can index all of your pages correctly. Here’s a screenshot of the overview page:
