Google has penalized a guest blog network

On Twitter, Google’s Matt Cutts announced that Google penalized another guest blog post network:

He also said that users of the network will be penalized:

Although the tweet did not name the network, it seems that it was MyBlogGuest.com. The website does not rank for its own brand name, which is usually a sure sign that a website has been penalized.

If you use guest blogs to advertise your website, make sure that the links in your blog posts use the nofollow attribute. If you publish guest blog posts on related websites that can send visitors to your site, you can continue to do so. Just make sure that you do not use guest blog posts just to get links.
