A top-level domain (TLD) is one of the domains at the highest level in the hierarchical Domain Name System of the Internet. For example, in the domain name www.example.com, the top-level domain is .com.
Although most businesses use popular TLDs such as .com or the TLD of the country (.de for Germany, .fr for France, etc.), some businesses prefer individual TLDS such as .guru or .club.
