Google’s Matt Cutts has released a new video on YouTube. In the video he talks about the way Google deals with Facebook and Twitter pages.
- Facebook or Twitter pages do not get special treatment from Google. They are treted like any other page.
- At this time, Google does not index the number of likes or tweets of a page. Matt Cutts says that the reason for this is that Google was blocked from doing this.
According to Matt Cutts, Google’s indexing activities will be more about identities. For example, if a well known person writes a story in his person block, the site will be authoritative and get high rankings. A tweet from the same person would get more ranking weight in Google.
