Google is experimenting with result pages that do not contain links to external pages. The result pages contains the answer to the question and sometimes ads but there are no links to other web pages.
Google’s Danny Sullivan confirmed this on Twitter:
BTW, as this has turned into one of the main places for discussion, I wanted to add I'm not just sharing outward what the thinking & reasonings are here. I'm also compiling the feedback and bringing that back in internally. It is appreciated & being heard.

For some search terms, this is really bad
The new ‘feature’ works for pages that bring up the calculator, local time, or unit converters. If a website contains ‘time’ or ‘date’, this can lead to problems:
If you're looking for a 'date in london', Google now shows ads for dating agencies but zero non-paid results. pic.twitter.com/NmUPW80xGj

Danny Sullivan said that this is just a test and that Google might change it.
